Peruvian Amazonite with Opal Pendant
Peruvian Amazonite with Opal Pendant
We didn't want to wait until spring again to work with Peruvian Amazonite, we really loved these tones and the sparkle we got from this cut. We had a few opal pendants in mind for this piece but chose this one for its contrasting elements.
Amazonite is a variety of Microcline, used for at least the past 4,000 years. Ancient civilizations including Egypt, India, and Mesopotamia used this stone. There was even a scarab ring made of Amazonite found in Tutankhamen' burial chamber. Amazonite is called "the peacemaker stone" due to its communicative abilities. This was an easy one for us, we felt it absolutely essential to have some peacemaker stone in this fall/winter collection. It has been said that this stone aides in manifestation , helping to vocalize our desires. Usually associated with the throat and heart chakra and the planet Uranus.
This piece is 16.25" of Peruvian Amazonite, with a Opal pendant. Added gold bead details and 1/2 Japanese seed beads for contrast. Clasped with 14K gold lobster clasp. Opal traditionally symbolizes hope, purity and truth.
