AB coated Moonstone

What is AB coating you ask? well, let us tell you, AB is short for Aurora Borealis, this modifier was developed by Daniel Swarovski in 1955 for Christian Dior, it lends a dramatic iridescence to stones. Although it is called a coating it does not wear off with time therefore it's more of a modifier. We do not often work with coatings, dyes, or heat treated stones but we made an exception this season with a few ( 3 ) AB coated pieces, because they really add a level of holiday sparkle we couldn't resist and they are the only modifier that does not wear or degrade the stones natural beauty. 

This piece is a lovely 15" AB Coated Moonstone with a few Japanese seed beads at the back, clasped with a 14K yellow gold clasp. 

 Moonstone is said to aide in self- healing (wink, wink self-care). It helps to regain our inner balance, therefore aiding in spiritual work and growth. Moonstone is often given to protect travelers from accidents and theft.  It is said to reunite lost lovers and enhance passion between lovers.  Moonstone is definitely a feminine energy and most often associated with the Crown chakra.
